Tatting Demonstration

January 18, 2020 to January 19, 2020

It is believed that the traditional skill of tatting was developed from netting and decorative rope-work from when sailors and fishermen would put together motifs for girlfriends and wives at home. Ropework and techniques such as coxcombing are very close to those used in tatting.

Visit Ross Farm Museum on the weekend of January 18th & 19th and chat with our interpreters as they demonstrate the beautiful art of both needle and shuttle tatting. Learn about the history and the differences between the two techniques.
