March Break fun at Ross Farm Museum

It’s time to mark your calendar for 9 days of March Break fun at Ross Farm Museum!

Open Daily 9:30 until 4:30 Come enjoy the beautiful outdoors and partake in a horse-drawn wagon ride/sleigh ride, go sledding/snowshoeing, or even take a winter walk along our scenic Nature Trail. (winter activities are dependent on adequate snow conditions)

Engage your mind with our interpreters as you visit the various buildings on site that will be open during our March Break events. With daily activities to participate in, exciting new things to learn, tasty treats to enjoy, and various animals to visit; each day will have a special theme that will create lasting memories.

  • Buildings are open from 9:30am to 4:30pm daily. 
  • Wagon Rides/Sleigh Rides will run from 10:00am to 12:00pm and again from 1:30pm to 4:30pm.  

Each day has a theme, and some of the daily highlights are outlined below: 

Saturday, March 9th, 2024 

Tasty Treats

Workshop – Enjoy a sample of homemade ice cream 

Cottage – Try your hand at taffy pulling 

Various Locations Around the Museum Site – Participate in a scavenger hunt to locate items used to make tasty treats!  

 

Sunday, March 10th, 2024 

Easter Theme  

School – Create an Easter ornament  

Workshop – Create a small toy 

Cottage – Decorate a cookie 

Various Locations Around the Museum Site – Participate in an Easter themed hunt to find rabbits and match them to their favorite Easter egg!  

 

Monday, March 11th, 2024 

Nature All Around Us 

School – Make a bird feeder 

Cottage – Decorate a cookie 

Workshop – Learn how to identify various animal scat 

Various Locations Around the Museum Site – Participate in a bird watch to locate and identify felted birds! 

 

Tuesday, March 12th, 2024 

Games Day  

Workshop – Make a game board 

School – Decorate wooden game tokens 

Cottage – Spin wool to make yarn to tie the bag that will keep your game pieces all together 

Various Locations Around the Museum Site – Participate in a hunt for game pieces and match them to their game board!  

 

Wednesday, March 13th, 2024 

Mill Day 

Workshop – Decorate ½ of a keg stave 

Cottage – Decorate a cookie 

Stave & Shingle Mill – Watch as staves are made that are required to make barrels, kegs, and other casks 

 

Thursday, March 14th, 2024 

Tasty Treats
