Opening of the Rug Hooking Display - Learning Centre

January 19, 2019

To mark the 40th Anniversary of the Rug Hooking Guild of Nova Scotia, RHGNS, the first event will be the “Celebrating Beginnings Rug Hooked Exhibit” at Ross Farm Museum in New Ross, NS. The Guild began on April 2, 1979 in The Forties, a small community down the road from the Ross Farm Museum.

This stunning display of over 50 hooked pieces includes traditional, contemporary, primitive, pictorial and oriental approaches to the art of rug hooking. We are fortunate to have included hooked items from various Founders, some Original Guild members, Life members and enthusiastic Guild members both men and women.

Please join us if you can on the “First Day” January 19, 2019 or visit until April 13, 2019.

Join in this historic occasion for the 40th Anniversary of the RHGNS.

The official opening starts at 1:00pm
